CASE STUDY "A"
A footwear facility had difficulty keeping its insurance costs under control. Not only were their Worker's Compensation premiums high but they were in a surcharge situation. In addition there were the increased personnel costs associated with high accident rates. The facility's management and employees, working with George Franklin of Ergonomic & Safety Services Inc., used a teamwork approach to significantly reduce the cost of this company's Worker's Compensation premiums and losses.
During their association, the following results were achieved:
- Workers' Compensation Premium was cut 68% while payroll increased 16%
- They moved from a surcharged rating plan to a discount rating plan to a credit rating plan
